PMA SUPPORTS LIGHTHOUSE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY CHARITY

PMA SUPPORTS LIGHTHOUSE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY CHARITY

PMA Recruitment Services are delighted to announce that we are now Company Supporters of The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity. PMA Recruitment Services endeavour to proactively support and encourage a positive attitude towards wellbeing and mental health. The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity is the only charity that provides emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing support to the construction workers and their families.

A key aspect of the charity’s strategy is to provide a range of free and widely accessible & effective resources to support the industry.

The charity provides:

  • 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline which provides a range of free and confidential support, which is complemented by their free Self-Support App.
  • Their free text HARDHAT to 85258 service aids with individuals who aren’t comfortable talking, their 24/7 text service provides instant access to text back counselling.
  • Lighthouse Beacons offers a safe space for individuals to drop in and meet like-minded people, socialise, and talk in a confidential environment. The Beacons are facilitated by individuals with lived experiences and can encourage those struggling with life problems to share their issues and if needed, seek further help.

Encouraging better mental health remains at the forefront of what we do, the more we can discuss (mental health), the better and why we are so thrilled to become Company Supporters of The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity and support them in promoting health, safety, and wellbeing at work.

PMA RECRUITMENT SERVICES, CONSTRUCTION & BUILDING SERVICES START-UP WINNERS

PMA RECRUITMENT SERVICES, CONSTRUCTION & BUILDING SERVICES START-UP WINNERS

We are thrilled and delighted to have been named as the Construction & Building Services Start-Up Winners at the Scotland Final of the StartUp Awards National Series this week.

The StartUp Awards National Series debuted this year to highlight the dynamic startup scene across the country that skyrocketed during the pandemic, and has been rolled out in nine UK nations and regions, supported nationally by BT, EY Breakthrough Incentives, Clearco, Dell Technologies & Intel, Moblox, Fearless Adventures and with regional support from Glasgow City Council, GS1UK and the Moja Group.

The Scotland final was held at SWG3 in Glasgow and saw twenty-three awards given out to the new businesses in categories including Digital StartUp of the year, Green Startup of the year, the Rising Star Award for businesses less than 12 months old and Young Entrepreneur of the year.

The awards were judged by a panel of prominent Scottish judges, including successful entrepreneurs and their supporters; Laura Birrell of Sticky Heelz, Danny Campbell of Hoko, Emma Macdonald of The Tartan Blanket Co. and Russell Dalgleish of Exolta Capital Partners.

Originally formed as the Wales StartUp Awards in 2016, the Awards Series has joined forces with the Great British Entrepreneur Awards to take the celebration of newly formed businesses nationwide. Creator of the awards Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE said the inaugural event not only celebrated the best new firms in Scotland but recognised the amazing entrepreneurial talent across the nation.

Alan Lees, BT director for corporate and public sector in Scotland, said: “It has been a privilege to be a judge for the Start Up Awards National Series and I was very impressed by the high quality of the entries across the different categories.

“BT in Scotland is committed to supporting small businesses and start-ups which are vital to our economy. It’s inspiring to see the passion, innovation and determination among the start-up community in Scotland and I’m pleased we’re able to sponsor these awards which shine a light on the fantastic work they are doing.”

PMA RECRUITMENT SERVICES SHORTLISTED FOR STARTUP AWARDS NATIONAL SERIES

PMA RECRUITMENT SERVICES SHORTLISTED FOR STARTUP AWARDS NATIONAL SERIES

Glasgow-based PMA Recruitment Services has been named one of the most exciting new businesses in the region after being shortlisted as part of a brand new awards programme. The StartUp Awards National Series has been launched to recognise the booming startup scene across the UK which has accelerated since the pandemic began. In 2020, when most of the world was shutting down, more than 400,000 startups were set up in Britain, with similar increases seen in other European countries. There was stiff competition with over 2,500 applications received in response to the Startup Awards National Series’ first-ever call for entries.

Start Up Awards Scotland

Supported nationally by BT, EY, Dell & Intel, the programme will celebrate the achievements of the amazing individuals across the UK who have turned an idea into an opportunity and taken the risk to launch a new product or service. Co-founded by the team behind the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, the new series follows the success of the Wales StartUp Awards, after organisers recognised the exceptional potential in the startup scene across the other British regions. Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE, the creator of the StartUp Awards National Series, said: “New firms are important for generating economic prosperity, employment opportunities and innovation. Since 2016, the Wales StartUp Awards have celebrated this amazing annual contribution to our economy by entrepreneurs and the impact they have on communities across the nation.

“Given the sheer volume of phenomenal startups we’ve heard from since then, as well as the huge post-pandemic shift in people’s desires to take their career in a new direction and set up a business against the odds, we felt it was the right time to take the programme nationwide. We’ve been blown away by the standard of entries in this first year and truly look forward to crowning the winners in June.” For more information or to request an interview, please contact Sam at sam@paperclip-pr.co.uk  or 07429 487 554 or Simon at simon@paperclip-pr.co.uk  or 07894 151 206.
