PMA has an exciting opening for a full time Business Development Manager to join our clients growing team based in Glasgow.

Job Title: Business Development Manager  
Location: Glasgow 
Contract: Part time – Minimum 2 days per week 
Salary: Competitive plus benefits

We are looking for a confident and dynamic individual looking for a challenge with proven working experience of developing improvement strategy, identifying, defining, and planning business improvement initiatives and delivering Civil Engineering Contracts.  

Responsibilities

  • Lead, and continue to sell into well- established customer base, identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Identify new tender/ sales opportunities within existing contracts
  • The identification of new and alternative approaches to performing business activities
  • Analysing performance and identification of performance improvement initiatives for the business
  • Developing business cases and assessment appraisals
  • Maintaining a portfolio of business improvement initiatives that contribute towards a local change programme and develop and maintain a roadmap for delivery

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Business Development: 2years experience (preferred)
  • Sales: 2 years’ experience (preferred)
  • Educated degree level or can demonstrate equivalent business experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • A self-starter with the ability to work under pressure and information management principles
  • Can work on own initiative
  • Can build relationships easily
  • General Civil Engineering knowledge essential and knowledge of the Construction sector

Location

The Business Development role will be based in Glasgow with potential of some working from home

PMA Recruitment Services requires a high calibre Senior Site Manager/ Project Manager for Healthcare projects.

Our client is a dynamic Scottish Contractor, working across public and private sectors including retail, education, education, healthcare, office, leisure and residential. Delivering refurbishment, interior, fit out and construction projects across Central Scotland.

Due to their continued success and increase in workload they are looking to recruit a Senior Site Manager/ Project Manager to join their expanding team based in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate. Due to the nature of the role, candidates will be expected to have core/ exceptional healthcare experience.

Responsibilities  

  •         Developing and managing effective communication and liaison with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure that requirements are identified, assessed, and appropriately integrated into the project.
  •         Effectively manage the delivery of projects to the baseline schedule, cost and performance commitments whilst monitoring project performance
  •         Lead on health, safety, environmental and quality aspects within the project.
  •        Development of project plans, schedules, risks, and assumptions registers.
  •         Planning and delivery of the project to meet contractual and industry standards.
  •         Planning, and managing internal and external meetings in relation to the project.
  •         Ensure project delivery programme is prepared and maintained for each project, ensuring an efficient
  •         Act as a single point of contact for clients, you will liaise with all departments regarding information needed to progress and complete the project successfully and effectively manage appointed sub-contractors, ensuring each deliver on time and within budget.
  •         Building and maintaining good relationships with clients, members of the design team and other consultants as well as stakeholders

Experience 

  •         Minimum 3 years Senior Management experience, working in the construction industry, managing healthcare projects.
  •         Management of teams on construction projects.
  •        Be able to interpret drawings and specifications.
  •         Have knowledge of relevant and up to date, construction industry standards, processes, and procedures
  •         Have a comprehensive knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and compliance on construction sites (including CDM, HSE specific guidance e.g.,)
  •         Have a good working understanding of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint,
  •         Have a good working understanding of MS Project
  •         Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  •         Confidence and interpersonal skills to engage at all levels, including management of customer expectations.
  •         Experience of handling conflict and managing sensitive issues to achieve positive outcomes

Qualifications

  •         Minimum of HNC in construction engineering or equivalent experience
  •         SMSTS Qualified.
  •         CSCS Card.
  •         1st Aid Certificate.
  •         Asbestos Awareness.
  •         Computer Literacy.
  •         A willingness to travel as required.
  •         Current UK driving license.
  •         The ability to lead, motivate and develop site-based teams.
  •        Strong IT skills together with an ability to communicate clearly and effectively. A proactive approach to management with the ability to problem solve.
